I'm not sure if I should be complaining but usually at this time of year we are freezing at recess and at lunch and there is snow everywhere. However today was different and the rain made everyone a little bit crazy including me!!
We began this morning by working on math skills. Students worked in partners on identifying translations such as rotations and reflections on the coordinate plane. They used formulas, protractors and compasses to check their work and draw out their solutions. Students should be finished these work sheets and tomorrow will have one more day to practice their skill in their math teams. We will have a test on Wednesday to check knowledge, understanding and communication. Then we will move right into measurement and the area of a circle.
Today we also began the final step of our Fluids unit, buoyancy. We will be doing an investigation on Wednesday with modelling clay, marbles, water, and a spring scale. Pictures, results and analysis to follow this week. Students should read through the experiment one more time before Wednesday and make sure that they are familiar with the steps. If you haven't handed in the Density Science lab today it is due ASAP! Tomorrow Density questions are due (activity sheet from last week), the link for the Hindenburg is here: http://www.airships.net/hindenburg/disaster
For French M.Ndikumana assigned more worksheets dealing with the various vocabulary associated with Les Sports, please ensure to stay on top of your work as he will be getting his report card marks from some of the activities you are doing right now.
Tech period should be dedicated to researching your "JUNK" food infographic. Below you will find a list of links that will help you with your research.
