Hello AGAIN??!!

So maybe it's been a while since I have last posted but I have to say things have been really busy around here. To be honest we've been going like gang busters this week and last and Halloween is always a crazy time at school. I am happy to report that we not only won for PURPLE day but that we won the PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST for the school as well. I think we've won a pizza party and a dessert so we're pretty lucky.

Yesterday was our trip to the Apple Store, what a fun day. The weather was perfect and the films that our students put together were pretty fantastic. I was impressed with the maturity that I saw in the students that came on the trip and I look forward to many more fun trips this year!

On the homework front:

1. You should have handed in your Science report on our observations on the viscosity experiment, I will be looking for neatness, thoroughness and a connection with the particle theory.

2. We started the novel "Speak" and you had a journal question to reflect on:
Journal #1 : What are your first impressions of Melinda? What do you think she did to her friends to make them ditch her? How youd you feel if you were her (not talking or speaking up for herself, no friends, new to grade 9, a perfect target for bullying, bad first impression with some of her teachers)?

3. If you haven't finished your thank-you letter for my Grandma, please make sure you get it in to me ASAP!! Also you need to have some ideas jotted down for your family story.

4. Math - Practicing BEDMAS with exponents. p. 223 #4-9

5. History : p. 35 #3, p.40 #1-2 & p.42#1-3


There will be more...we're doing a cool project for Rememberance Day and I'm looking forward to it.
