Ms. Kearns' Class Blog: History Research Day

Today was a productive day. We got our History Project Packages and spent a double period getting organized and researching in our groups. All students got a package and I have posted what the sheets look like below, in case any parents are interested on what the evaluation looks like. We will have a double period at the end of the day tomorrow to work on History again so bring in your research & work.

Invites to the school's Holiday concert on December 15th went home today. Unfortunately for us we are not listed as one of the performers but our class will be presenting a holiday movie. Ms. Lowen will also need some grade 8 helpers so some students will definitely need to attend! We have also been assigned the theme of baking for the holiday basket fundraiser. The school council is asking for a $5.00 donation under that theme and our class has decided that we want our donations in by Thursday so we can fill in the blanks on Friday for the due date on Monday. I hope that this is a success and I look forward to donations coming in.

Today was day two of our Math Games. We had to have a bit of a pow wow regarding supply teachers and French so groups will have to present tomorrow. We decided that behaviour has to improve for those 40 minutes and hopefully the program options will be more fun and inventive. It was a good talk and I am grateful for your honesty. On a happier note, mathlete muscle was definitely flexing and I was impressed with what I saw when you all were in your groups! (Please see the word problem below.) I am looking forward to the presentations tomorrow and time challenges as well. ;)

Science Investigative Reports are due tomorrow. Language (Earl Beatty) was due Friday. History research is due tomorrow in class again!!! Have a great night, see you tomorrow!
