What a hilarious day! I'm not sure what was funnier, Dylan with his extreme sideburns and 'stache combo special, Tomas with his long handlebar moustache that he stroked all through the morning, Terry with a hand drawn finger with a moustache drawn on that, Will with a pink Hogan-esque stache, Renis with an overgrown curly moustache, Sahifa with a sparkly uni-brow, stache/tickler combo or Angela with her secret moustache with attitude. All made me laugh, and were a wonderful addition to a fun-filled Clairlea Spirit Day. We have almost made our goal of $150.00 and there are still some classes who are bringing their money in on Monday, so it's a great day for Cancer research! (Any students who forgot money today can bring in fifty cents or a quarter on Monday to drop in a donation if they forgot today, after all it is the reason for the spirit day in the first place!)
On a more serious note...we took up the Science investigation today and swapped information to make a complete chart. Students were given an opportunity to share what they found out and record other student's results. We discussed the key concepts again surrounding: MASS, WEIGHT & VOLUME and decided that the good copy of our investigation notes and questions would be due this Tuesday November 28th, 2011. The details of the expectations for this assignment will be below in the pictures.
We also have begun the Math games today...and all groups did really well. We will continue them on Monday with some review on : Scientific Notation, Bedmas with exponents, Powers of 10 and some Adding of integers. Bring your Mathlete minds and your A-Games because there are prizes to be won. Great work to : Terry, Bory, Martina & Mhogan AND Angela, Caytlin, Sara & Rachelle = your groups start off in the lead on Monday. So great job. If you would like some review on Scientific Notation please follow the link and do some review:

We had to complete the in-school census this afternoon which didn't give us much time to do work on our History research projects OR any English...so you can find some links to help you with your History research below, please print up relevant materials and bring them for MONDAY as you will have a double period to work on this and I would like you to get some work done in those periods.
