Career Day & Wacky Wednesday

Yesterday was Career Day. What a great day. We got to learn about the different job options and career paths that were open to our students and all of the cool careers that lie ahead. Thanks to Mr. Bretney for coming along to help supervise, we appreciate you spending the day with us.

Below I have attached some of the links to the people that we saw yesterday. You can look them up and research more about the different careers that we saw yesterday.

There were more but at this point in the night...I'm having a bit of a brain freeze. So maybe tomorrow night?

Today we started off with a lecture/discussion style lesson about how documentaries are not fiction. You will find the notes below.

After recess we had a silent reading/math work period in class. A challenge was handed out for the class to remain on-task and silent. All went well.

After lunch we talked a little about population patterns : linear, scattered and clustered. We discussed the pros and the cons of living in these kinds of population patterns. I promised to link near where I live so you can see how we go from clustered to scattered and then to clustered again. Please check the link below and type in: Anderson Street, Whitby, ON (my house backs on to Manning)

We finished the day with a work period in ART. The detailed hand-out was given today...we read through it with the class and then I conferenced with a few people. Hopefully you all have your artist picked and have started on the planning part of your work. The people I met with today have their ideas but need to work on their actual piece of writing. See you tomorrow! TGIF!
